ARVIN, Calif. - One of the suspects in a bizarre local robbery learned his fate.
Rene Gomez will spend two years behind bars. Gomez plead no contest to robbery charges and in exchange the hit and run charges were dropped.
Prosecutors say he and Steven Lujan robbed a market in Mettler back in March and led sheriff's deputies on a chase that ended for Lujan at a home in Arvin, and for Gomez near his home.
They also say Lujan beat and sexually assaulted the homeowner, before he was shot by the victim's son.
