BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man is dead following a late-night shooting in Buttonwillow, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Department.
The KCSO said north area deputies were sent to the 100 block of West 2nd Street in Buttonwillow for reports of a victim of a shooting at around 11:53 p.m. Saturday.
Once deputies arrived, they found 18-year-old Jonathan Cota Romero suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Romero was airlifted to Kern Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
