BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -

A man recently released from jail failed to report to his probation officer and register as a sex offender and is now wanted for arrest.

On Sept. 30, Theodore Steele was released from the Kern County Jail on Felony Probation with a Court order to report to his Probation Officer and register as a sex offender within 5 days of release from jail.

Steele failed to do both and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Steele is known to wander the 2300 block of Castro Lane as well as the Valley Plaza, specifically the food court and arcade.

Steele met the victim of his sex crime at the Valley Plaza.

He is court ordered not to associate with minors under the age of 18, nor frequent places where minors congregate unless in the presence of a responsible adult.

Anyone with information should contact Probation Supervisor, Jeremy Roberts, at 661-868-7551 or immediately notify local police.
