Kern County Sheriff's Department detectives are searching for a group of men who shot a man in south Bakersfield.
At about 12:25 a.m. on Wednesday, deputies were sent to 2100 block of South M Street regarding a shooting.
Deputies said they found a man lying in the street.
The victim was suffering from at least one apparent gun shot wound.
The victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital were he is listed in critical condition.
The suspects are being described as 2 to 4 white or Hispanic males occupying a white unknown make vehicle.
The suspect vehicle was last seen fleeing south bound from the scene.
