BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for robbery.

On Tuesday, Jan. 29, shortly before 7 p.m., officers of the BPD went to a Chase Bank on Panama Lane regarding a robbery.

Upon arrival, officers said they learned that a man approached the teller window of the Chase Bank, made threats of having a gun, and demanded money.

The suspected man then fled the bank with an unknown amount of money, according to officers.

Officers said the suspected robber is described as a Hispanic man in his mid-twenties. He is said to be about 5-foot-10, unshaven with a mustache.  Officers also said the suspect had his hair, possibly a wig, pulled into a ponytail and he wore prescription glasses.

Officials also said he was wearing a dark colored baseball hat with a Dallas Cowboys logo, black zip up hoodie sweatshirt and athletic pants.

Anyone with information is urged to call the BPA at 327-7111.
