Man sentenced for human trafficking of 13-year-old victim

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The man convicted of trying to convince a teenager to become a prostitute was sentenced Tuesday.
Jerome Henderson, 23, will spend 32 years and 8 months behind bars for human trafficking.
His 13-year-old victim said he tried to get her to go to Sacramento with him, and that he tried to solicit her for prostitution.

Henderson's case is the first sex trafficking case in Bakersfield, since voters approved Proposition 35, that increases penalties for human trafficking crimes.
