BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The man convicted of beating his girlfriend to death has learned his fate Thursday.
Family of the victim looked on as 59-year-old Arturo Huerta was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.
Police found 37-year-old Acamea Coy dead inside her home on Niles Street last April.
Huerta was inside with blood all over his hands and body.
The victim's sister was hoping for a harsher sentence but said she is just happy Huerta is going to jail.
