BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Kern County Sheriff's deputies arrested the man wanted in connection with a deadly Oildale shooting Tuesday night following a short standoff.
Deputies surrounded a home in the 100 block of 17th Street at about 7:00 p.m. and ordered Paul Parra, 34, to come out and surrender.
After a short delay, Parra emerged from the house and was arrested. Several nearby homes were briefly evacuated during the standoff.
Parra is suspected of shooting and killing Keith Hurst, 44, in an alley behind 705 Woodrow Avenue on August 16th.
Parra has been booked on one count of murder.
