Man wanted for chop shop in Bakersfield

Suspect fled scene, 2 others arrested

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -  

 

The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted for possession of a stolen vehicle, conspiracy and operating a “chop shop”.
 
On Friday, Nov. 9, at about 9:45 a.m., the Bakersfield Police Department Grand Theft Auto Taskforce received information regarding a stolen vehicle parked in the 1800 block of Padre Street.
 
Taskforce officers went to the scene and found the reported stolen vehicle, a 2003 Nissan Frontier truck, parked to the front of a residence.
 
Further investigation uncovered a “chop shop” being operated in the rear yard of this residence.
 
Taskforce officers found an additional reported stolen vehicle, a 2005 Toyota Tundra, in the rear yard of the residence in an advanced stage of being dismantled. Numerous other stolen auto parts were also recovered from the scene.
 
Andrew Ybarra Chavez 28, and Adam Rodriguez 51, were arrested at the scene for possession of a stolen vehicle, operating a chop shop and conspiracy.
 
A third suspect identified as, Kenneth Ramirez 43, fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival. Ramirez is also wanted for possession of a stolen vehicle, operating a chop shop and conspiracy.
