BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A motorist was taken to Kern Medical Center at about 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday after his vehicle bounced across the road, where he later died.
68-year-old Laurence Hawk was traveling Westbound on SR-58, about one mile east of General Beale Road, when for an unknown reason his vehicle drifted to the right shoulder of the roadway and then to the left center median before rolling to a stop.
An autopsy is pending.
