WASHINGTON, D.C. - House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy issued a statement on the 12-year anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.
"On this date twelve years ago, following the cowardly and heinous attacks on our country and the values that we stand for, America’s resolve was tested and on full display to the world," McCarthy said, "Since the attacks, the men and women in our armed forces and intelligence communities have been steadfast in the mission to defeat the terrorists responsible for the attacks and to keep our families safe at home."
McCarthy said he was proud of the selfless acts of bravery displayed by Americans on that day.
Maintaining freedoms in the United States was the best way to honor those victims, McCarthy said.
"Through our resolve, we will never forget," McCarthy said, "God bless America!"
