McFarland PD basketball game to raise money for less fortunate during holidays

MCFARLAND, Calif. - The McFarland Police Department is conducting their 2nd annual Special Operation: Christmas-A Holiday Home.

MPD is hoping to raise enough funds to sponsor at least five specially selected, less fortunate families to bless with gifts, clothing and food.

To help raise money, officers have teamed up with employees of the City of McFarland and challenged faculty members from the McFarland High School and McFarland Unified School District to a basketball game.

The game will be on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Mouser Center, located at 100 2nd Street. Doors open at 6 p.m., with a $2 donation admission for anyone older than 10-years-old.

The families will be presented their gifts by officers, city council members, and Santa, on Thursday, Dec. 20, beginning at 3 p.m.

Local business owners and citizens have been sponsoring the basketball game and offering donations.
