BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A community meeting is being held today to give commuters an idea of what the new Highway 178 and Morning Drive project will look like in east Bakersfield.
The project will widen the 178 in the area from two to four lanes. It will also connect morning drive from Panorama Drive to College Avenue.
Today's meeting is from 4 to 7 at Canyon Hills Assembly of God Church, 7001 Auburn Street.
A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m.
Construction is set to begin this fall and will take two years to finish.
