Men try snatching purse out of moving van in Wal-Mart parking lot, police say

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in identifying and locating the following suspects wanted for attempted robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy.

On March 16 at 4:24 p.m. the victim was walking alone towards the entrance of the Wal-Mart store located at 5075 Gosford Road when the suspects, who were described only as two black men, a driver and a passenger in a van, attempted to snatch the victim’s purse, said Sgt. Joe Grubbs with the Bakersfield Police Department.

The van, described as an early 90s, white Chevrolet Astro cargo-van with tinted rear windows, was moving at the time of the incident.

The victim was pulled violently and struck her head on the van, causing moderate injuries, Sgt. Grubbs said.

The suspects failed to snatch the victim’s purse.
