BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Millions of people across the country took part in an earthquake drill on Thursday morning to test their preparedness.
The Great Shake Out event was an event that school children, workers, and first responders practiced how to drop to the ground, cover their heads and hold on to something sturdy.
The largest earthquake to hit Kern County was a magnitude 7.3 in 1952 and was centered in the south county.
