BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A Castaic woman who went missing in August was found dead in a remote desert location in California City, officials said.
On Sept. 1, officers with the California City Police Department went to the location regarding a body. When officers arrived they found a dead body, later identified as 59-year-old Martha Myers of Castaic.
An examination was performed on Sept. 3, but the coroner said the cause of death is pending.
Myers family had reached out to 23ABC in August and said her last phone call was made in the general area of Mojave and Rosamond, Calif., in the early morning hours of August 6. According to reports, that phone call was made to her roommates saying her car had broke down.
