BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The name of one of the men who led sheriff's deputies on a wild high-speed chase from Mojave to East Bakersfield has been learned. 

Deputies said 22-year-old Christian Nevarez and a 16-year-old, who's identity hasn't been released, shot a man yesterday at the Motel 6 in Mojave, then headed for Bakersfield.

The chase lasted for two hours and reached a top speed of 110 miles per hour, according to officials.

They got off on Oswell Street and witnesses spotted them speeding down Martin Luther King Blvd.

Officials said Nevarez and the 16-year-old were tased and both are facing a laundry list of charges this morning, including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.

The shooting victim is recovering at Antelope Valley Hospital.
