A Bakersfield mother who was arrested after being featured on 23ABC for giving birth to a New Year's Day baby has been sentenced to a year behind bars.
Robin Howard has pleaded no contest to one count of possession of a controlled substance for sale.
She was sentenced to a year in jail with 22 days already served.
Four other possession charges were dropped.
Howard was arrested just two days after authorities saw her on New Year's Day after giving birth to the county's first 2014 baby.
She was already part of the "Baby and Me" program and was wearing an ankle monitor and followed all orders from the court.
