Motorcycle driver injured, later arrested after late-night crash

Followed high speed chase across Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The driver of a motorcycle is facing charges following a late night chase across Bakersfield.

The chase started Wednesday night in the Rosedale area, according to the Bakersfield Police Department. The driver of the motorcycle led officers across Northwest Bakersfield at speeds reaching approximately 100 miles per hour.

The pursuit came to an end at about 10:30p.m., after the driver crashed the motorcycle at the intersection of Mohawk Street and California Avenue. A 23ABC viewer captured the aftermath on camera.

The driver, who's name hasn't been released, was treated for minor injuries and later arrested for vehicle code violations, according to B.P.D. Lt. Scott Tunnicliff.
