CHP looking for careless motorist and riders

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Extra California Highway Patrol officer will be on patrol Friday in an effort to increase the safety of motorcyclists.
Officers will be on duty patrolling areas frequented by motorcyclists and where motorcycle crashes occur, according to a CHP press release.
Officer will be on the lookout for violations made by drivers and riders. According to the CHP, motorcycle fatalities stateside saw a phenomenal drop of 37 percent from 2008 to 2010, but rose nearly 18 percent in 2011.
