National Drug Take-Back Day rakes in unwanted pills by the pound

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Saturday October 26th you have the chance to clean out your cabinets and help fight a growing problem.
It's National Drug Take-Back Day from 10am-2pm at the Kern County Sheriff Office headquarters located at 1350 Norris Road.
Safe drop-off sites will also be at their substations in Delano, Frazier Park, Wasco and Lake Isabella as well as the Delano and Tehachapi Police Departments.
Over the past three years the Drug Enforcement Agency and participating departments have raked in nearly 2.8 million pounds of expired and unwanted pharmacy drugs.
The service is free and anonymous however, only pills, tablets and capsules will be accepted.
