National Weather Service issues red flag warning for fire conditions in Kern County mountains

Very low humidity and strong winds prompted a red flag warning in the Kern County mountains.

They National Weather Service out of Hanford said the conditions could lead to rapid spread of a fire should one ignite.

They said Pine Mountain Club, Frazier Park, Lebec, Bear Valley Springs, Tehachapi, Walker Basin and Sequoia National Forest, including the Piutes.

Fire conditions include winds 20-30 miles per hour, with gusts up to 45 miles per hour. The humidity is as low as 5 percent.

The warning is in effect through 10 p.m. Wednesday.
