SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A coalition of law enforcement groups are in support this morning of state legislation that would strengthen laws against driving under the influence of drugs.
Senate Bill 289 would make it a crime, with few exceptions, for drivers who test positive for even a trace of drugs.
That would include most prescription medication and medical marijuana.
Seventeen other states have similar law on the books.
