BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Board of Supervisors is raising concerns about a building going over budget.
The building is paid for with tax dollars, part of a 2009 bond.
A new information technology building scheduled to be built on Mount Vernon was approved for $11.5 million. The project is now more than $3 million over budget.
The building would house IT Services, which is currently in the flood-prone basement of a building on Truxton Avenue. IT Services coordinates data processing and telecommunications services for all County departments.
Supervisors have refused to approve more money so for now, the project remains in limbo.
