BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - With growing concerns for the environment, the Metropolitan Recycling Corporation unveiled its new state of the art recycling facility.
The grand opening was held Wednesday morning with the presence of many city leaders. The new facility was constructed to operate faster and with more efficiency, with the help of its 20-ton per hour recycling capabilities.
This all comes in an effort to abide by new state requirements for increased recycling programs and county collaboration with other green organizations.
The new operation is expected to add more than two dozen permanent jobs in addition to all the jobs created through the construction process.
