TEHACHAPI, Calif. - The City of Tehachapi is one step closer to making the long-awaited new Tehachapi hospital a reality.
Last night, the Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District approved option one, which includes a full 25 bed hospital with a maternity ward and an administration building.
The total cost, including equipment will be a little over $87 million.
They already approved 28 different construction bids and there are eight still up for grabs.
Work is scheduled to begin next month.
