A local non-profit group that buries unidentified and abandoned babies with dignity and love has received a large donation to help them continue their work..
Garden of Innocence has been given enough land by the Historic Union Cemetery to bury a hundred babies.
In addition to a burial, the group gives each baby a full color guard provided by the Knights of Columbus.
They try to give each a baby a handmade urn created by the boy scouts, youth groups, or local woodworkers along with a 12 x 12 blanket, a toy, and a special poem written for each individual baby.
The group is asking for financial help and to contribute, send a check to P.O. Box 1883, Bakersfield, CA 93301.
