BAKERSFIELD - Police placed several schools on lock down Friday morning following a chase.
Witnesses reported seeing police chasing a suspect in a white car throughout northwest Bakersfield at about 10 a.m. Friday.
Officers with the Bakersfield Police Department and California Highway Patrol ended the pursuit close to Buena Vista Lake at Enos Lane and Union Road.
The driver was taken into custody and was possibly under the influence and drunk, officers said.
There is no information if the driver was the owner of the car.
The driver was arrested on charges of felony evasion.
