BUTTONWILLOW, Calif. - According to the California Highway Patrol, a multiple fatal traffic collision has caused the closure of the northbound lanes of I-5 to close at SR-43 in Kern County.
CHP says the collision occurred when a southbound tractor trailer crossed the median and collided with two northbound big-rigs.
As of 3:30 a.m., there is no estimated time of reopening but there is a detour in place.
