Officials offer reward for information regarding 40-year-old's death

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -
The Secret Witness Program is offering a reward of up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the arrest
and filing of a complaint against the suspect(s) involved in the following investigation:
On OCt. 1, at about 11:42 p.m., Bakersfield Police Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of L Street
for a report of a victim of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, Laura Porras 40 years old,
suffering from gunshot wounds. Porras was transported to a local hospital where she died a short time
later. The circumstances and motive behind the shooting remain under investigation.
