LAMONT, Calif. - Kern County Sheriff's Officers spent their afternoon looking for a gunman near Lamont Elementary School on Wednesday.

On Jan. 23, at about 1:30 p.m., officials went to the elementary regarding a man wearing a mask and carrying a pistol.

Three second graders, who were in the playground area, said they saw a man hop a fence and walk onto school grounds.

The students had varied descriptions of the unknown man.  But the school went into immediate lockdown after one of the boys said they saw the man carrying a gun.

School officials said they then contacted parents to pick-up their students from the campus.

No gunman was found, according to officials.
