BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -

Deputies found over eight-thousand dollars during a traffic stop in Central Bakersfield Monday Afternoon.

On Dec. 10, Deputies assigned to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Major Violators Unit , assisted by Deputies assigned to Kern Narcotics Enforcement Team, concluded an investigation, leading to the seizure of 13-pounds of Marijuana and $8,789 in cash.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on 27-year-old Jorge Obiso at Union and Ming Avenue.

During the stop officials said, Obiso did not have a valid driver’s license.

Deputies then searched Obiso’s car and found over eight-thousand dollars, a hotel key, and a hotel receipt, hidden in the dash area of his car.

Deputies then went to the Easy 8 Motel, located on Buck Owens Boulevard.  They searched the room, which was identified from the receipt, and found over thirteen pounds of packaged, processed Marijuana.

Obiso was taken to the Kern County Jail where he was booked in for Possession for Sales of Marijuana, and other charges.
