BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield Police said they arrived at South Real Road and the SR-58 when they said they received a call about several gunshots and multiple victims.
Police said when they arrived they found a vehicle in the roadway with a man in the driver seat suffering from multiple gunshots.
Officials said the injuries were major and the man was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
A second man was found to be the passenger inside the car at the time of the shooting. Officials said he was picked up and taken to a local hospital.
Officers said the second mans injuries are not life threatening.
The road closures earlier this morning were due to the investigation of this shooting.
Police said the investigation showed the two men were shot in their car from another car while they were driving westbound on the SR-58 around South Real Road.
