One man dead in Bakersfield after car crash; Gosford Road reopened after hours of closure
Driver ejected, killed in early morning crash

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - An early morning car crash left one man dead and closed a major road in Southwest Bakersfield Monday.
On Monday, July 29, at about 2:30 a.m., officers with the Bakersfield Police Department found an almost unrecognizable car on the center median of Gosford Road near Kroll Way.
After investigating, police said the vehicle drifted into the center median for unknown reasons and hit a tree. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Angel Reyna Cabrera of Bakersfield, was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene, according to police.
Police said it is unknown if alcohol or drugs are a factor in this collision. No other vehicles or other people were involved in this incident.
This investigation of this collision is continuing.
Police reopened Gosford Road at 8:45 a.m.
