BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A parent said the Beardsley School District ignored complaints of her daughter being bullied on campus.
Jennifer David wants to get all of her kids out of that school, but she has been met with defeat.
Last semester David went to the District to complaining that another parent sought out her daughter on school grounds yelling at her.
“She called me a snotty little brat, you little snitch and then called me a cuss word,” the daughter said.
David said the parent of another child entered the campus without permission looking for David’s daughter because the two children were quarreling. David said the school did nothing.
This year, David asked for an inter-district transfer.
“That parent being a bully is a very serious matter, because it's not just another student,” David said, “This is a parent that is an adult that is threatening a child. For me to go to the school with an issue like this, this should have been a top concern.”
David said the district would not accept the transfer until the reference to bullying was removed from the request.
David refused, but the district eventually granted that request. David called Standard School District.
“Before I sent that district transfer I called and they said they had openings,” said David.
When David sent the request, she said she was told otherwise.
“’I'm sorry we can't take you, we don't have room now, you are going to have to go back to Beardsley’,” David said Standard School District told her.
Beardsley is that last place Breanna wants so go.
“They are not keeping the other kids safe, and I want to be safe,” said Breanna Ford, “Now I have to go to a different school because they are not treating me safe.”
The superintendent said that school enrollment is full for transferring students.
Beardsley School District said a parent can request a transfer for bullying.
The family is waiting to hear from the Rosedale Union School District.
