FRESNO, Calif. - Kerr and Wagstaffe have filed a wrongful death suit against the Theta Chi Fraternity on behalf of the parents of Bakersfield resident Philip Dhanens, who died of alcohol-related hazing.
The San Francisco firm said the suit is against the Indiana Corporation Theta Chi Fraternity, Inc., the Beta Upsilon Chapter and six members of the brotherhood in regards to the death.

The firm states that California law bans any form of hazing that is likely to cause bodily injury.
Dhanens was a freshman at Fresno State University and a graduate of Garces High School in Bakersfield.
