Parolee residents arrested for burglary in Hart Flat area

K-9 unit did respond

TEHACHAPI, Calif. -

Parolee residents were arrested for a Hart Flat Burglary Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday, Dec. 22, at about 2:18 p.m., deputies from the Tehachapi substation went to a house located on Bear Mountain Road, in the Hart Flat area, when they heard of suspicious activity.

Due to recent burglaries in the area deputies said they arrived quickly and confirmed that a burglary had happened.

The deputies made efforts to secure the open area in an attempt to find and arrest the suspects.  The deputies requested assistance from KCSO Air units and K9 units.  The Air units and K9 units were called in from Bakersfield.

After a short time, two suspects were found and one suspect remained hidden in deep underbrush somewhere up the mountainside.

A possible suspect vehicle was seen stuck on the mountainside.  The deputies were directed by the Air unit to a large tree area and K9 units searched the area.

Officials said the K9 units found a suspect hiding near a large tree.  The suspect refused to come out of hiding and the K9 dog went in to get him.

A parolee, later identified as 24-year-old Vince Brown resisted arrest and then sustained several dog bites.  He was arrested and received medical treatment at the scene.  He was taken to Tehachapi Hospital for further medical treatment. Upon completion of the treatment he was booked at Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Central Receiving Facility in Bakersfield.

Two other suspects were also arrested, 24-year-old Anthony Damien and 22-year-old Misty Sterk were taken to Bakersfield for booking at the same facility.

Sterk was booked on a charge of Conspiracy and held on $10,000 dollars bail.

Brown and Damien were both booked on charges of Burglary, Resisting Arrest, GTA, and Theft of a Firearm.

Their bail had not been determined.
