BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -

Officials are investigating reported gun shots at a small party in Bakersfield.

At approximately 1:00 a.m., the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received a phone call regarding a large party in the area of Drury Ln. and Haley St. in Bakersfield on Saturday.

The caller reported seeing fifty to sixty subjects in the roadway and hearing several gunshots being fired.

As deputies were arriving at the scene, people were fleeing the area in vehicles as well as on foot.  During the investigation, deputies located evidence consistent with a gun being fired at the scene.

Deputies processed the crime scene and canvassed the neighborhood for witnesses.  Area hospitals were checked, in an attempt to locate any possible victims.  No victims were located.

The investigation continues.
