BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A suspected drunk driver suffered minor injuries in an early morning crash that killed her passenger Friday.
At about 12:35 a.m., officials said a 2005 Honda Civic was headed westbound on Rosedale Highway, past Enos Lane, at an unknown speed.
Investigators said the female driver, 23-year-old Tessa Jennings, lost control of the car and drove off the south side of the roadway into an orchard and struck a tree.
Officials said the passenger, 20-year-old Clayton Blake Goldman, died from the injuries of the accident.
The California Highway Patrol said alcohol did play a factor in the crash.
