BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Dozens of local lucky Boys and Girls Club members have received brand new shoes as part of the "Payless gives shoes for kids program."
The program gives low-income children involved in the Boys and Girls Club the opportunity to hand-pick a brand new pair of shoes for themselves for free.
Shoes for Kids has pledged to donate $1.5 million dollars worth of shoes to children not just here in Kern County but all across the country and throughout Latin America this holiday season.
The program kicked off the day after Christmas and by the time the program wraps up next month more than 200 local children will own new pairs of shoes.
