PD: Suspect wanted for touching woman inappropriately in Bakersfield Walmart parking lot

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Police need help identifying a suspect who reportedly followed a woman to her car and touched her inappropriately. 

The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for sexual battery.

On June 24, at about 9:00 a.m., the victim and her young child exited the Walmart on Fashion Place and allegedly followed by the suspect. The suspect reportedly approached the victim as she placed her child in the vehicle, asked for money, and the victim refused.

The suspect then reportedly touched the victim inappropriately. The victim attempted to defend herself, but the suspect struck the victim in the face before he fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man with a dark complexion.  He is said to be in his 30s.  The man was described as being 5-foot-4, weighing about 215 pounds.  He is said to have short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown and white checkered shirt and unknown colored shorts.
