BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Around 8:51 p.m. the Bakersfield Police Department says they responded to the report of an injury collision involving a vehicle vs. pedestrian in the 900 block of Union Avenue.
When they arrived, officers say they located an adult man who had been struck while crossing the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk. The man was taken to a local hospital with moderate to major injuries.
After striking the pedestrian, police say the suspect vehicle fled the area north on Union Avenue. The suspect vehicle is described as a dark four-door newer compact car.
