BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A pedestrian was killed in a late night hit & run accident in East Bakersfield.

According to the California Highway Patrol officer Robert Rodriguez, the victim - identified as 21-year old Anthony Matthew Saldana - was either walking or skateboarding in traffic lanes on Niles Street near Valencia Drive.

On Sunday, at about 9:30 p.m., officials said a truck traveling westbound on Niles Street then struck the victim and drove away without stopping.

Officer Rodriguez said the victim died at the scene.

According to Rodriguez, debris found at the crime scene indicates the vehicle is a Chevrolet Colorado truck with a model year between 2004 - 2012.
