BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -

A pink themed breakfast was held to honor victims and survivors of breast cancer on Saturday.

The Order of the Eastern Star, Stars United Social Club will be hosting a Pink Pancake Breakfast from 8 am to 12 pm on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Fraternal Hall.

Breakfast included pink pancakes, eggs, potatoes, sausage/bacon, coffee, and milk.

During the breakfast we will also host a Pink & White Balloon Launch.  Each balloon launch will honor someone who has died, survived or is fighting breast cancer.

A portion of the proceeds from this breakfast were donated to a local organization in helping with the fight and the OES Grand Chapter Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Order of the Eastern Star is one of the largest fraternal organizations in the world to which both women and men can belong.  The Santa Joaquina Chapter #14 of Bakersfield is one of the older Chapters in the California Jurisdiction.
