Pioneering doctor A. Richard Grossman dies at age 81

Well known for his contributions to burn victims

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Hospital officials say doctor A. Richard Grossman died Thursday, March 13, at his home according to a statement released by the San Joaquin Community Hospital. He was 81 years old.

The community is mourning the loss of the medical titan who helped lead the way for innovative burn treatments.

Grossman will continue to be well known for his advanced and altering contributions to burn victims. His new ideas brought change to the medical world in 1969 and he was internationally recognized for his success.

SJCH worked with Grossman in 2009 to open up a new burn center that helped countless victims with their recovery.
