CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif. - Detectives from the California City Police Department are investigating the death of 75 year-old Charles Pieper of California City.
Officers said they were sent to the 8000 block of Holly Avenue at about 9 a.m. on Sunday after a neighbor reported finding a man dead inside his home.
Police said they discovered evidence of foul play relating to the death of the victim.
Pieper was well known in the community and has served for many years on the City’s Planning Commission.
Detectives are continuing their investigation but no arrests have been made. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
