BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Plans to extend a local highway have hit a snag this morning.
The City of Bakersfield applied for early acquisition of 200 homes in the Westpark neighborhood that are in the way of Caltrans' preferred route for the Centennial Corrider Freeway.
But the Californian reports the application process for those homes has been delayed for several months with tear down of the homes expected to start in Spring 2014.
The freeway extension will link Highway 58 with the new Westside Parkway.
