Police are searching for a suspect involved in an attempted kidnapping in downtown Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield police are asking for your help to find a suspect in connection with an attempted kidnapping in downtown Bakersfield.

Police say the suspect approached the girl yesterday morning at 34th Street and Chester Avenue at around 7:30 a.m.

He grabbed the teenager and tried to force her into his car, but she was able to escape and call for help.

Police say the suspect is described as a black man in his late 30s. He is 5'8" with a large build.

His car is described as a late 90s dark green 4-door Honda Accord with rear-tinted windows.
