Police: Man approached Bakersfield home looking for a girl

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect of a possible attempted kidnapping.

The suspect knocked on the door of a home on the 300 block of A Street on Jan. 16 at about 10:50 a.m. A parent answered the door, and the suspect asked for the parent's daughter, a minor, by name, officials said.

When the parent confronted the suspect as to why he was there for the child, the suspect fled on foot. The reporting party did not know and has never seen the suspect, officials said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 20s, 5-feet-10-inches tall, with a medium build, shaved head, clean shaven, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
