Police: Porterville residents had illegal explosive devices and drugs

PORTERVILLE, Calif. - The Porterville Police Department's Special Investigations Unit went to investigate reports of suspicious activity occurring at a local residential mobile home park.

Detectives said they discovered residents had a pipe bomb and illegal explosive materials for the manufacture of explosive devices.

Neighboring residences were temporarily evacuated while explosive demolition experts finished investigating, officials said.

Detectives said during a thorough search they also located usable amounts of marijuana and methamphetamine, and evidence of marijuana cultivation and other drug paraphernalia.

Jeannie Chaney and Dave Easlon were arrested and booked at the Tulare County Jail, detectives said.
